Tarbiyah Test Term 3.

Assalaamualaikum dear parents,

Alhamdulillah holidays are over. I sincerely apologise for not updating the blog. I was telling myself that after june holidays I should startpreparing weekly worksheets for Arabic and Tarbiyah for my son but unfortunately I keep postponing till today.. I managed to prepare the first two topics only. I do hope this will help you to prepare the rest for your child. As for the Arabic paper, I have not start preparing as I do not know what will be tested. Insha Allah I will prepare the Arabic worksheets once I get the info on what will be tested. Mind mapping

Assalamualaikum to all parents,

A few weeks ago, I created mind maps for the Tarbiyah test for my son. Mind mapping is a tool I learned some time ago which is also useful for education purposes. After looking at it my son told me its easier for him to understand and remember.

Mind mapping is created by Tony Buzan during his student days. "Mind mapping is a tool for faster and smarter brainstorming , problem solving planning, note-taking, revision and much more"

Our children are natural mind mappers and the younger they are, the more creative. I created a mind map for the upcoming Malay test 2. You have to start looking in the middle of the mind map first because its where the key word is. Click on the link below.

Insya Allah it will help our children to retrieve and retain information effectively and lessens their burden of learning. Hopefully I can post more information on the mind mapping tools in the future.

Tests Results..

Alhamdulillah, finally all the tests are over. Alhamdulillah my son have received all his test papers including tarbiyah. Both my husband and I are very happy with his results. I do hope all the parents are also happy with yr child's results..

May Allah Make our children good muslims and the future Ulamas. May Allah grant our chidren success in this world and the hereafter. May our Children be the coolness of our eyes..Ameen...

1st and foremost i would like to say shukran to all the parents for their support and encouragement. Its really tough on my side to prepare the exercises but with the help of my husband alhamdulillah I managed.

I hope this will be the last test for the term. I have prepared some exercises for my son and would like to share with all of you..
The exercises are long..If you dont have the time to let your child do it then just go through it orally with them..

Tough periods!!

Assalamu'alaikum to all parents!
Last 2weeks and the upcoming week have and will be a bit tough for our kids!...
One test after another.
But I think it will and should be a good practice for our children, not only they will be discipline and revise their studies early, ...take these as a preparation so that we also as parents learnt to be well prepared for them in their mid-exams period!...

Long school Hours

Assalamualikum,

Dear parents,

A parent wrote to me abt long school hours and would like some help on how to overcome her problem. Maybe we all could share with her how we manage our child's daily routine from waking up in the morning to bedtime. Below is what she has written to me..

Salam to all parents,I'm having dilema now as my daughther had totally change of behaviour frm a cheerful girl to a moody ones. She wake up at 5.30 in the morning & reach home at 5 in the afternoon. She don't even hv time to learn her spelling nor school homework. By then after shower & dinner, she feels lethargic & sleepy.

Pls help....

Here are some ways you can type arabic :



1: Get an arabic keyboard, or arabic keyboard stickers that can be pasted over the existing keys of the Englsih keyboard.

(U can get it from DeFatiin boutique near masjid kassim tel: 63455265)



2: Download the following link for arabic fonts and copy the contents to the windows fonts folder

After downloading the above, go to microsoft words, go to insert symbol. There you will see all the arabic letters. you got to insert letter by letter.

Arabic test Preparation..Feb 2009

I have prepared some arabic exercises for my son for his upcoming arabic test. I have attached one exercise as a sample for you to follow to guide your child. I have followed the format that was given by his arabic teacher.

1: Matching of words to the correct picture

2: Matching of questions to the correct answers.

3: Fill in the blanks with the correct words.

4: Fill in the correct pronoun - كَ,كِ,يِ

5: Spell out the numbers in Arabic

With the given exercise, you can use the textbook, workbook and worksheets for more words and examples to practice.

My daughter expressed her concern about not being able to borrow books from the library during both recess time as it is always crowded with students from all level.

Ways to Help Your Child Prepare for Spellings for English, Malay and Arabic

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

الحمد لله والصلاة والسلام على رسول الله وعلى آله وصحبه ومن والاه وبعد

One of my hubby's friend shared with my hubby his way of helping his son learn his spelling for Malay, English and Arabic.

The way is to print the words in grey and repeat it a few times. The child is required to write over the 'greyed-out' words a few times. This will help improve the writing as well as impress upon the child the spelling of the words.
